Frost Delays: 5 Things Every Golfer Should Know

With the possibility of temps dipping down in the low thirties this week, we wanted to get info on frost, the damage it causes to turf and why delays are needed out to our members. The USGA put out a great article on frost that explains frost and what all golfers need to know......click link below to read.

A light topdressing of the greens.....

With the continued warm weather still present this week we were able to get another light topdressing and brush of the greens on Thursday. This will help even up some of the remaining holes from aerification and some of the numerous unfixed ball marks. It will also increase some firmness in the greens and continue to help with thatch dilution.

October is the month for painted leaves.... As fruits and leaves and the day itself acquire a bright tint just before they fall, so the year near its setting. October is its sunset sky; November the later twilight. ~Henry David Thoreau, "Autumnal Tints"

What can we say about 2020 so far that hasn't already been said?! We all know it's been a tough year that has affected basically everyone in one way or another on the planet. Even our little world here at Pueblo del Sol has been affected. Covid related issues, lack of a monsoon(haven't hit 8" for the year) and the continued high temperatures(low 90's) through October have been challenging to say the least. With all that said we have entered the fall season in pretty good condition.....even though we are not where we would like to be.  But considering all we had to endure , the limited staff here at GMS has really done a fantastic job.

Here are some other issues we have had the last couple of months........
